Biography

With his elegant, swinging and sophisticated style, Lee Glantz has been entertaining audiences for over 30 years. Lee is one of the premier singer-pianists on today's musical scene committed to keeping alive the songs of one of the richest eras in music history, known as the "The Great American Songbook". He also has a passion for the music of the more contemporary Masters Billy Joel and Elton John.

Born in the Bronx, raised in Queens, this native New Yorker's childhood home was filled with Broadway show music including the songs of The Gershwins, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart and Irving Berlin just to name a few. Though in his teenage years Lee played in many rock 'n roll bands, it was his love and affinity for the extraordinary music of his childhood that ultimately became his passion.

After graduating from Queens College with a BA in theater, Lee moved to Manhattan and, in his late twenties, returned to his music and began to develop an audience playing in some of the most prestigious hotels, piano bars, restaurants and private event venues New York has to offer. He spent several winter seasons in Palm Beach where he performed at the renowned Leopard Lounge at The Chesterfield Hotel. Also in Palm Beach, Lee was the house pianist and vocalist for the inaugural season of the Mar-a-Lago Club. In Nantucket, Lee performed at The Chanticleer in Sconset as well as at other venues.

Lee performs themed concerts of great artists such as Cole Porter, Billy Joel, Elton John, Nat King Cole and others. In addition, he toured in France with his show "A Musical Journey Across America" singing songs such as "Stars Fell on Alabama", " I Left My Heart In San Francisco" and "Moonlight in Vermont" to take his audience on a musical tour around the United States. Lee also performs an autobiographical program on his career as a New York Piano Man.

In addition to performing in venues open to the public (see schedule), Lee continues to bring his considerable musical talents to many private events, solo or ensemble, in such venues as The St. Regis Hotel and at The Rainbow Room atop Rockefeller Center.

Lee was the house pianist at The American Hotel in Sag Harbor for 7 years.
